Amae Love is an eclectic singer / songwriter with a sultry,soulful voice that embodies a modern approach to soul,blues, R&B and jazz. Similar to artists like AmyWinehouse & Adele, Amae takes the best of that classicvintage sound and combines it with soulful, bluesy melodiespaired with positive & empowering lyrics. She likes to callthis style “Singin’ the Purples” as in: a higher consciousnessversion of the blues. Amae is a multi-faceted talent whoseskills as performer include Improvisation, MC’ing, hoopdance, DJ’ing, Dance, and guitar. Amae’s musical career has been vast & varied. Havingperformed professionally since the age of 11, Amae hasperformed everywhere from Disneyland to Padres games,sang radio jingles and opened up for the Drifters, allbefore graduating high school. Amae relocated toLos Angeles in 2001 and performed with electronica-funktrio Animastik for several years, co-writing over 40 originaltunes, recording several demos and a full-length album.Amae has also graced the stage playing at local venuessuch as the Viper Room, the Knitting factory and theKey Club, and large-scale Seminars such as theEnlightened wealth retreat, at charity galas,political events, and weddings. Amae recently performed at the West Coast festivalcircuit, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s.Opening up for Zap Mama at Earthdance Festival,and the Theivery Corporation. Amae’s recent Soloand group performances have included The Bagatellein Vegas, Envision Festival, Harmony Festival,Lightning in a Bottle, the Raw Spirit Festival, Emrg-n-see,Alchemeyez, Mystic Garden Party, Burning Man, Beloved,Horning’s Hideout, & Bali Spirit Festival. Amae made the difficult decision to go solo after 4 yearswith Animastik. Soon after she won an award for“Best Music Video” in Elevate film festival 2006, for herHip-pop anthem about being an artist in LA, “ConcreteFlowers.” All the videos for this consciousness-raisingfestival were shot and edited in a mere 48 hours.The award winning result can be viewed atwww.amaelove.com In addition to her music career, Amae is a longtime health,environmentalist, and foodie.
