Amae’s musical career has been vast & varied. Having performed professionally since the age of 11, Amae has performed everywhere from Disneyland to Padres games, sang radio jingles and opened up for the Drifters, all before graduating high school. Amae relocated to Los Angeles in 2001 and performed with electronica-funk trio Animastik for several years, co-writing over 40 original tunes, recording several demos and a full-length album. Amae has also graced the stage playing at local venues such as the Viper Room, the Knitting factory and the Key Club, and large-scale Seminars such as the Enlightened wealth retreat, at charity galas, political events, and weddings.
Amae recently performed at the West Coast festival circuit, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s. Opening up for Zap Mama at Earthdance Festival, and the Theivery Corporation. Amae’s recent Solo and group performances have included The Bagatelle in Vegas, Envision Festival, Harmony Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, the Raw Spirit Festival, Emrg-n-see, Alchemeyez, Mystic Garden Party, Burning Man, Beloved, Horning’s Hideout, & Bali Spirit Festival.
Amae made the difficult decision to go solo after 4 years with Animastik. Soon after she won an award for “Best Music Video” in Elevate film festival 2006, for her Hip-pop anthem about being an artist in LA, “Concrete Flowers.” All the videos for this consciousness-raising festival were shot and edited in a mere 48 hours. In addition to her music career, Amae is a longtime health, environmentalist, and foodie. She is also known to make people laugh. Amae’s passion for food/health/consciousness continues, she recently made another recipe video, “consciousness cake”.
